Level 1 Network Management Center Technician
3rd Shift


As a Level 1 NMC Technician, you will be part of a growing 24/7 team located in Eau Claire, WI. In this fast paced environment you will be responsible for managing/monitoring routers, switches, Sonet/DWDM Equipment, and Linux/Windows Servers.  The position will be taking direction from Level 2 NMC Technicians, Engineers and the Director of NMC Operations.


Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and administer: routers, switches, SONET/DWDM Equipment, Linux servers, Windows Desktop and Servers
  • Use internal monitoring solutions to diagnose and alert customers of issues
  • Respond and update tickets in accordance with department procedures
  • Follow all documented processes and procedures
  • Assist with technology installation to include: securing cabinets, racking equipment, and cabling
  • Performs/supports back-up, scheduled maintenance, upgrade and troubleshooting
  • Create/Update existing documentation
  • Must work holidays that fall on scheduled shifts and have the flexibility to work extra shifts as required by management.


Job Requirements

  • Provide superior customer service skills in a responsive and professional manner
  • Minimum of an Associate’s degree or three years of experience required
  • A+, Network+, and/or CCNA certifications are a plus
  • MCITS, Linux+, LPIC certifications are beneficial
  • Understanding of Windows O/S (Server 2003/2008, Windows XP, Windows 7)
  • Understanding of Linux O/S (Red Hat, Centos, Ubuntu)
    *Previous Experience with Sendmail, Postfix, Dovecot, or cPanel is a plus
  • Knowledge of Virtualization Technologies
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Occasional local and regional travel required (< 10% of time)

Associate Network Engineer

Position Summary:

To become an integral part of the Airstream and Wisconsin Independent Network’s (WIN’s) team by assuming the role of Associate Network Engineer.  The Associate Network Engineer is responsible for communication system design, development, and installation.  This position will provide consultation on data and telecommunications network services and systems; participate in the requirements definition process; design and implement appropriate solutions; and identify and solve operational problems relating to networks and distributed communication systems and servers.  Other characteristic responsibilities include:  identify existing and emerging technologies, and evaluate their applicability to the WIN/Airstream network; and represent the Companies at professional meetings and conferences.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and development of network systems consisting of digital data transport and IP based systems, data and telecommunications network services (including voice, data, and video transmission), and network backbone design. 
  • Understand and apply new technological systems and multiple vendor products to develop innovative system solutions that match network and market requirements.   
  • Handle other functions associated with provisioning, installation, monitoring, and operation of network elements, network capacity, and network systems within a specific geographical area.
  • Assist with the development of NOC support systems. 
  • Install, configure, and manage advanced computerized data and telecommunications network systems. 
  • Support network operations, including circuit design, monitoring, problem diagnosis/repair, and traffic analysis.
  • Direct customer interaction/assistance will be required. 
  • Remain on call 24 hours for emergencies or equipment demands as needed.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.


Work Relationships:

Work closely with all Wisconsin Independent Network (WIN) and Airstream Member Telcos (and their respective customers), all CMG employees, and all consulting partners.  Work with vendors and suppliers.  Report to Senior Director – Network Operations & Engineering.


Work Conditions/Equipment
:

Most work performed indoors.  Physical activity consists of normal office work and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.  Utilization of basic office machines and computer equipment.  Occasional local and regional travel required.  Regular and timely attendance mandatory.


Minimum Qualifications
:

  • 4 year degree in Telecommunications, Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
  • 2 years (or equivalent) experience with Cisco LAN/WAN routing and switching and familiarity with WAN IP-based technologies.
  • Server Administration (Windows, Unix/Linux) preferred.
  • Familiarity with DNS, SNMP, SMTP, Radius, NTP, and network security.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

Position Summary:

As Office Administrator, you will take responsibility for the smooth running of our office where your professionalism, initiative and office skills will be welcomed.


Primary Responsibilities
:

  • Provide CEO with administrative support.  
  • General administrative support to entire office – duties include copying, filing, scanning, incoming and outgoing mail and shipments, front desk receptionist, answering phones and directing calls and maintaining central files.
  • Prepare and deliver daily bank deposit(s) and mail to post office.
  • Compare incoming invoices to spreadsheet and note differences; reconcile credit card and fuel bill.
  • RMA’s – researching, initiating, tracking, receiving, shipping.
  • Manage meetings – coordinate calendars, schedule meetings, make travel arrangements, and organize arrangements for staff use of office conference rooms, conference bridges and other meetings.  Plan and organize staff functions, such as annual picnic and Christmas Party.
  • Keep office functioning smoothly – monitor and order office supplies, coordinate maintenance of office equipment and manage outsourced office cleaning service.
  • Manage petty cash, purchase orders, Airstream and WIN equipment inventory, shipping and receiving, and assist with Continuing Property Records for CMG. 
  • Marketing – Creating/updating network maps, sales support pieces, stationery, business cards, web site ads, staff/customer lodo’d clothing items, event ticket distribution.
  • Post job openings and coordinate interviews.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
